I own the Fishmobile a Burning Man Art vehicle, which is a 26,000 GVW truck. At present it is in Alameda, loaded with my camp's gear. It was idling today for only a few minutes while we ran the lift gate and the engine/tranny started making horrible noises. It only makes them in neutral and at low RPM. There is some kind of linkage from the outside which appears not to be connected. I have a friend who wants to drop the transmission, but this is a pretty big job and I'm hoping someone out there has more experience than we do and will consider helping us (we will compensate someone if that will help).
